This painting captures the rich legacy and evolution of Singapore Tamil theatre, portraying the essence of its performance spaces and cultural heritage through intricate abstract strokes. It honours the pioneers, performers, and visionaries who have shaped this vibrant art form.

As a tribute to this enduring legacy, Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law, added the final touch – the Thilagam on the forehead of the Therukoothu Mask, symbolising his recognition and support for Tamil theatre’s profound contribution to the nation’s cultural fabric.
